Kim Denney

Kim Denney is a well-connected, experienced Houston leader with a chemical engineering degree from Missouri S&T and graduated from Rice Business with her MBA in 2001. Her ability to see potential in an organization, as well as discerning the path to an improved future state, underpins her capacity to work collegially and creatively to develop and pursue a strategic vision. Her global perspective, engineering background, and financial acumen shaped a record of solving top-level problems as an executive with broad responsibilities in the Petrochemical, Energy, and Manufacturing industries.

She currently works as a Partner and Managing Director with Newport LLC, helping middle market business owners accelerate growth, improve profitability, and successfully sell their businesses. With over 40 years of work experience and over 20 years serving on boards, Kim has developed a keen understanding of board governance and the unique role of a board member from both a fiduciary’s and a strategist’s perspective. Kim’s passionate commitment to private businesses and non-profit organizations is evident in her board service through difficult transitions and the breadth of her support of business- and community-centered organizations.
