David Holmes

David is currently a director with S&P Global Ratings working primarily in education and general obligation sectors and sustainable finance. Previously, he spent nearly fifteen years in K-12 education. David holds an undergraduate degree in government and economics from the University of Virginia in addition to an MBA from Rice University. He is a Teach For America alumnus and a past recipient of the HISD Teacher of the Year North region award.

Recently, David has served as a Rice Business Class Ambassador and Rice Mentor Collective advisor, as well as in chair roles with the University of Virginia Houston alumni association, Greater Northside Health Collaborative, and Top Ladies of Distinction Inc./ Top Teens of America. He is an active member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, Southern Finance Municipal Society, and National Black MBA Association. David resides in Houston, TX with his wife and two young daughters and enjoys running and playing sports.
