Why did you select Rice Business for your MBA?
Pursuing an MBA at Rice would allow me to network with the brightest minds in the city while increasing my knowledge and experience. The prestige and brand that Rice holds tends to open doors to opportunities from a professional and personal perspective.
How has Rice helped you with your career?
When I started my MBA program, my main goal was to acquire a business post-graduation. Towards the end of my degree, I was able to take the Enterprise Acquisition E-lab which gave me the skills and confidence necessary to complete a transaction. Four months post-graduation I was able to acquire my first portfolio company, Well Done Cooking Classes.
What is the most important advice you’d like to share with prospective and current students?
Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Your cohorts will be some of the most intelligent people you've experienced in your career. Learn from as many people as possible and network like never before!
What have you valued most in the Rice black student and / or alumni network?
I haven't had much experience or exposure to the Rice Black Alumni network, but I'm trying to make up for lost time.
