Courtney Johnson Rose, 37 - is the Principal Broker of George E. Johnson Properties, the brokerage division of George E. Johnson Development Inc. They are a full service real estate firm specializing in residential and commercial brokerage services.
In 2007, Courtney was selected by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the REALTOR® Magazine as one of their "30 under 30". This award features top Realtors across the United States who have maintained the status of being on top in the real estate industry before hitting their prime. She has also been awarded “Realtist of the Year” and Salesperson of the year by the Houston Black Real Estate Association, and the President’s Award from the NAACP Ft. Bend Chapter. Courtney has been honored by Rolling Out Magazine as one of Houston’s Top 25 Most Influential Women and she was featured on the January 2008 cover of Real Estate Executive Magazine. In addition, she was featured in the Houston Business Journal Inaugural Class as one of their Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders in Houston and in 2012 by the Houston Association of Realtors as one of their “Top 20 under 40 Real Estate Professionals” in the Houston area. Courtney was also chosen as the fall 2014 cover story for Empower Magazine. In 2013, she created and hosted an informative real estate show entitled Real Estate Today that appeared on Comcast.
Courtney is an active member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, where she serves on the national board and as Chair of the Board for her local chapter. She has served as part of the Budget and Finance Committee for the Texas Association of Realtors and has served as Chair of the MLS Committee for the Houston Association of Realtors which manages the number one website in Texas for real estate, www.har.com.
Courtney obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and earned her Masters in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University, where she is an adjunct professor as part of the Masters in Community Development commercial real estate certification program. In spring 2014, Courtney was honored to be named Faculty Member of the Year for her program. Courtney is also a graduate of the Texas Association of Realtors Leadership Program, the Graduate Realtor Institute and she has obtained the distinguished Certified Commercial and Investment Member (CCIM) designation. Courtney’s firm has also successfully completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Initiatives Program and Leadership Houston Class XXXI.
An active member in the community, Courtney is the Chair of the Board for the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Ambassadors Committee for Unity National Bank and has served as Co-Chair of the economic development committee for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Suburban Ft. Bend Chapter. In 2014, Courtney was appointed as a Commissioner for the Missouri City Planning and Zoning Commission and she has served on the Real Estate Advisory Board for Houston Community College since 2012. Courtney has been married to Teeba Rose for over 10 years and they have been blessed with two children.
