Carl Luna is a Managing Director at The Energy & Minerals Group (“EMG”). EMG is a Houston, Texas based private equity firm with approximately $16 billion of regulatory assets under management. Mr. Luna is responsible for sourcing and managing the firm’s investments across the energy sector. Prior to joining EMG in 2015, Mr. Luna was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Axip Energy Services, LP from 2013 to 2015 and was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Copano Energy LLC from 2009 to 2013. Prior to joining Copano Energy as Vice President of Finance in 2006, Mr. Luna held various investment banking positions at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. from 1991 to 2005.
Mr. Luna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University where he was a Jones Scholar Award winner. Mr. Luna and his wife Gina have two sons, Tyson and Carson. Mr. Luna is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston where is currently Co-Chair of the Finance Committee. Mr. Luna also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
