Burdette Huffman
Adjunct Professor

Burdette serves as executive vice president for The Blue Ox Group in Houston and managing partner at Lamb Communities. With nearly 20 years of real estate and retail experience, he brings invaluable knowledge to the team. Previously, Burdette was Principal of EDGE Realty Partners, a major Texas commercial developer. Prior to EDGE Realty Partners, Burdette was the vice president of development for Lovett Commercial. Earlier in his career he was vice president of e-commerce and marketing for Francesca's Collections (NASDAQ: FRAN). Additionally, he worked for Weingarten Realty (NYSE: WRI), where he served as a director in several capacities including acquisitions, capital markets and new development. Burdette has purchased, sold, developed and spearheaded joint ventures for over $500 million worth of land, retail properties and industrial projects. In addition, he has secured debt financing in excess of $200 million. Burdette received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in real estate and finance from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where he was a Jones Scholar and a Jones Citizenship Award recipient. Burdette also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University, where he graduated with high honors. In addition to his work at The Blue Ox Group, Huffman is an adjunct professor of real estate at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where he serves on the Jones School Real Estate Advisory Committee. He also serves on both the Management and Advisory Committees for Urban Land Institute (ULI) Houston as well as on the Building and Annual Fund Committees for River Oaks Baptist School. Additionally, Huffman is a member of several worthwhile organizations including the Houston Zoo Asante Society and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Burdette enjoys spending time with his wife, Monica, and his three children.
