Anup Sharma

Anup Sharma is senior vice president, Global Business Services for LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. In this role he is responsible for leading the company’s digital strategy as well as the company’s information technology and procurement functions.

Prior to this position, Sharma was with General Electric for more than a 24-year career holding a variety of executive positions, including vice president & corporate officer. In his most recent role, Sharma was responsible for driving enterprise-wide digital solutions to accelerate customer outcomes, revenue and productivity. Previously, Sharma served as chief information officer (CIO) for GE Oil & Gas, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, and GE Energy Installation & Field Services. He also served in a series of cross-functional leadership roles at GE Corporate, GE Power and GE Capital, and is a certified six-sigma master black belt.

Sharma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information science and business management from Huntington University in Indiana and is a graduate of GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP). He serves on the Board of Advisors at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business and is on the board of directors for the March of Dimes, Houston.
