Al Galindo
Lecturer in Entrepreneurship

Al Galindo is an entrepreneur and educator with extensive experience in valuing, acquiring and operating businesses. After earning his MBA from Rice University in 2017, Al launched a search fund to find and acquire a business with annual sales over $5 million. After sourcing thousands of proprietary leads and engaging with hundreds of business owners, he acquired Integrated Computer Systems (ICS) in 2020, which was later sold to a strategic acquiror in 2024.
Drawing from his firsthand experience dealing with business sellers, Al realized that business owners frequently overlook critical valuation factors from an acquirer’s point of view. This inspired him to found Valorem Business Valuation, where he helps business owners proactively increase their valuation and exit successfully.
Al also teaches an MBA course on Enterprise Acquisition at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, where he helps students develop the skills to assess, acquire, and grow businesses.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Rice University. His extensive experience spans business development, operations, and strategy, including negotiating acquisitions and working closely with lenders, investors, and private equity firms. Al’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs - whether they're just starting out or preparing for retirement - informs both his teaching and advisory work today.
