Abbey Hartgrove
Director, Global Programs & Experiential Learning
With over a decade of experience in global programming and international relations, Abbey Hartgrove currently serves as the director of global programs and experiential learning at Rice Business. In her role, Abbey oversees a wide array of critical functions, including the management of global programming, operations, budget, curriculum and staff. The vision for her team is to ensure Rice MBA students gain invaluable international exposure and practical experience, enriching their educational journey.
Abbey has spearheaded numerous initiatives that aim to position Rice Business as a leader in global business education. Through the Global Field Experience (GFE), her efforts have fostered robust collaborations with small businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide, enhancing the school’s global reach and reputation. By managing diverse teams and nurturing international partnerships, Abbey plays a pivotal role in driving the growth of the school’s global programs. In previous positions within Rice Business, she managed the FTMBA program, exchange programs, international electives and international student advising. Prior to Rice Business, Abbey developed leadership programs at the University of Houston.
Abbey holds a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas A&M University.
In addition to her collegiate studies, she is passionate about the wine industry and has her Level 2 distinction in wine from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
