Alumni Relations and Rice Business Partners: The Future of the Global Supply Chain
The coronavirus global pandemic thrust global supply management into the headlines with tales ranging from shortages of PPE, medical equipment, and groceries from last spring/summer to upcoming concerns about vaccine production and distribution. Guiding principles like just-in-time management seem to be fading, while calls for more resiliency and reshoring have dominated the news. Through this panel session, we'll hear from several Rice JGSB on the front lines of global supply chain management about how they are managing through these dynamic times and what they see in the future for supply chains. The panel will be moderated by Professor David VanHorn '00, Professor in the Practice of Operations Management of the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
