Terry Hemeyer

Terry Hemeyer has taught Corporate Crisis Management for over 20 years, serves as a mentor and guest lectures. He is also an associate professor of practice at the University of Texas at Austin and is executive counsel to Pierpont Communications.
Hemeyer is a hands-on expert in crisis management; corporate and litigation communications; marketing; advertising; media, employee, government and community relations; HSE; IT; HR; and leadership methodologies. His extensive experience includes serving as a C-suite executive for a Fortune 150 company and as an executive vice president for Edelman Worldwide. He also personally advised or assisted five different U.S. Presidents on political and communication matters. While in the U.S. Air Force, he was selected for promotion to colonel and earned the Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam.
Hemeyer has handled numerous high-profile personal and business crisis situations. He has assisted Fortune 500 CEOs, educational institution heads and Department of Defense executives, as well as national sports and entertainment figures. Business topics handled include accidents, litigation, sabotage, cyber security, labor and discrimination issues, financial reporting, bankruptcy, environmental and corporate compliance and criminal issues.
He has appeared on the Today Show and Tonight Show on NBC, 60 Minutes on CBS, and has been interviewed by many media including CNN, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Ecomomist, CNN, Business Week, Washington Post and USA Today.
Hemeyer’s education includes the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program, an MA in communication from the University of Denver, a BS in education from The Ohio State University and completion of the Harvard University case study program.
