Tamara Clarkson

Associate Director, Career Development

Tamara Clarkson is an associate director in the Career Development Office. She helps MBA students meet their professional goals by discussing career plans, networking, and job search strategies. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in art history and a master's degree in counseling from Texas State University, she moved to the cold Midwest where she provided individual counseling and assessment interpretation to students at Purdue University’s career center for five years. She also led her career center’s marketing and media team, launched the Career Closet (a service that provided professional attire to over 500 students in financial need within the first year), assisted employers with their recruiting needs, and helped redesign her department’s website, which was later featured as one of the five most interesting career center websites in 2016.

Tamara is Rice Ally trained and certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory assessments.
