Susan Garner is Managing Director and Regional Manager for Bank of the West, the US subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA. With over $3 trillion in assets, BNP Paribas is the 8th largest banking organization in the world with offices in 72 countries. Bank of the West, BNP Paribas’s US subsidiary, is expanding its geographical presence in US. Susan was named Regional Manager of the Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana markets in 2017. She and her team focus on large corporate clients with revenues between $100 million - $5 billion, and they provide client solutions across multiple business lines including lending, international & domestic treasury, global trade, foreign exchange, debt capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, and investment banking.
Susan’s previous experience includes Citibank in Dallas as Senior Vice President, and over 21 years with JPMorgan Chase in various Commercial Banking roles including SVP & Division Manager Healthcare/Not-for-Profit in the Houston region, SVP & Division Manager in New York City for Healthcare in the Northeast US Region, and as Market President for Commercial Banking based in San Francisco and covering the Northern California Region. Susan has a record of leadership in building high performing teams, growing market share, and delivering financial results.
Susan earned an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, and a Bachelor of Science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Susan currently serves on the Board of Rice Business Partners. As an active community volunteer over the last 25 years, Susan has previously served on the Boards of Directors including The Salvation Army of San Francisco, The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and Bo’s Place Houston. She has also served in fundraising and in leadership positions with the Greater Houston Partnership, Leadership Houston, United Way Houston, and KIPP Dallas.
