Sophia Cunningham
Senior Director, Houston Energy Transition Initiatives

Sophia is a Senior Director of the Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) at the Greater Houston Partnership—the region’s largest Chamber of Commerce. She leads HETI’s efforts related to carbon capture, use, and storage (CCUS), manages the Initiative’s Community Advisory Board, and oversees climate equity initiatives to strengthen relationships between corporate climate action and the Greater Houston community.
Sophia previously served as the Director of Public Policy at the Partnership. She led the Public Policy team in developing policies that promoted economic growth and opportunity in Houston, and in positioning the city as an influential global leader.
Sophia graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is an alum of the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership Forum.
