Sandra Ro Executive Director, Head of Digitization at CME Group. Ro is responsible for the company’s digital assets and blockchain / distributed ledger technology (DLT) initiatives. Previously as Executive Director, Head of Foreign Exchange (FX) and Metals Research and Product Development she was responsible for the global development of CME Group FX and Metals solutions within listed and cleared OTC products.
Ro was recently named to the Innovate Finance, Women in Fintech 2016 Power List and holds directorships/founding memberships on several industry boards including the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) http://www.gbbcouncil.org/, Post Trade Distributed Ledger Group (PTDL) http://www.ptdlgroup.org/, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) http://entethalliance.org/, AlphaPoint Industry Advisory Board.
Prior to joining CME Group in 2011, Ro led the EMEA M&A FX and interest rates derivatives, event driven advisory group within Global Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley, London and worked at Deutsche Bank as a FX structurer on the London trading floor.
Ro holds a M.B.A. in Finance from London Business School, studied Computer Science at Columbia University School of Continuing Education, and received a double B.A. Degree in History and Studies in the Environment from Yale University, specialized in the proliferation of biological and chemical weaponry in the 20th century.
