Niklas James

Niklas W. James is founder and managing director of Stavanger Capital. He started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he worked primarily in the global oil and gas practice and private equity group. Niklas later worked at DN Capital, a venture capital firm, where he was involved with sourcing new deals and improving performance at operating companies. 

Most recently, Niklas gained operations experience and managed teams on a range of projects at Schlumberger, including technology evaluation, portfolio optimization, cost management, commercialization of re-fracturing, and new product offering for upstream companies and clients in the oilfield services sector.

Based in Houston, Niklas recently served on the board of the Houston-Stavanger-Galveston Sister City Society. He earned a bachelor’s at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), a Master of Science at London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
