Nestor Rivera

Nestor J. Rivera is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Trust & Privacy, Trade, and Enterprise Operations Legal at HP Inc., a global technology leader and creator of solutions that enable people to bring their ideas to life and connect to the things that matter most.

Nestor joined HP in 2023 and is currently responsible for leading its Trust & Privacy, Trade, and Enterprise Operations Legal Organization, which includes defining and driving the company's global data privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, records and information management, trade compliance & enablement, procurement, supply chain, sustainability, and global product compliance legal strategy.

Nestor acts as HP’s Chief Trust & Privacy Officer and provides primary legal support to its Enterprise Operations and Cybersecurity Organizations. He leads HP's Ethical/Responsible AI strategy, including the creation of HP’s AI Governance Principles.

Prior to HP, Nestor was at GE HealthCare for almost 12 years, most recently serving as its Chief Privacy Officer & Data Protection Counsel and Executive Information Technology Counsel.  He also practiced over 11 years in the areas of data privacy and security, healthcare, and business litigation with two Florida-based private law firms.

Nestor received his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2000 and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Political Science from the University of Miami in 1997.  He is a graduate of the McKinsey Academy Hispanic & Latino Executive Leadership Program and Deloitte University's Next Generation Chief Legal Officer Academy.
