Jeffrey Spittel
Managing Director, U.S. Energy Capital Markets Practice, FTI Consulting

Jeff Spittel is a Managing Director across FTI’s Strategic Communications and Corporate Finance segments. In this capacity, he leads the firm’s energy investor relations and securities practice and provides industry and company analysis to FTI’s corporate finance teams. Mr. Spittel has more than 20 years of capital markets experience across various disciplines including equity research, buy-side analysis, equity and credit trading, and macroeconomic commodity price forecasting. Prior to joining FTI, he spent 12 years focusing primarily on the oilfield services (OFS), exploration and production (E&P) and engineering and construction (E&C) sectors in senior research positions. Previous to working in sell-side equity research, he was an analyst at Eden Capital Management, where he covered the health care and energy sectors. Mr. Spittel began his career as a U.S. Government debt trader at Cantor Fitzgerald before joining the Goldman Sachs equity market making team.
Mr. Spittel works across multiple FTI segments on engagements which encompass investor relations program design, restructuring, valuation analysis, due diligence, financial communications, capital markets support, M&A advisory and sector thought leadership. He specializes in providing sector background information, company specific expertise, secondary trading analysis, business plan review and institutional investor engagement.
Representative engagements include IR project lead roles for Saudi Aramco’s contemplated IPO; head of global IR support for Mitsui & Co.; customization of investor relations programs for global, publicly traded companies; business plan assessment for several OFS and E&P restructuring transactions; IPO communications support; ESG communications support; analyst day program design; corporate performance improvement initiatives; private M&A diligence; valuation and benchmarking studies; energy thought piece authorship; strategic and competitive analysis ; investor focused environmental activism defense; capital markets research development and restructuring communications roles.
Mr. Spittel holds the Finra Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses. He has a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University.
