Why did you select Rice Business for your MBA?
Rice is a school that I've always admired and heard nothing but good things about. I applied and hoped for the best, and when I got in it was one of my proudest moments. The opportunity to attend such a prestigious university is not something I ever thought I'd be able to do.
How has Rice helped you with your career?
The education, the network, the experiences, and the name, just to start. Attending Rice University has enriched my career and my life and is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
What is the most important advice you’d like to share with prospective and current students?
Pick the electives that you're uncomfortable with and go on all the trips that you can. Exposure to content that you're unfamiliar with may be what you need to give you a new perspective and open up new opportunities for you. The experiences you will get from traveling to a country you've never been to and learning how they conduct business can't be beaten.
What have you valued most in the Rice black student and / or alumni network?
Having that automatic connection with strangers. Whether it's seeing someone in the airport wearing a rice hat and talking to them or interviewing with a fellow alumnus and reminiscing about your experiences those connections are valuable. Being part of this network helps to open more doors and opportunities for us.
