What about the Rice MBA program has surprised you the most?
I am surprised by the vast range of opportunities we get here through the coursework, conferences, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Sometimes you will feel bad to miss something because of other commitments as there is a limit to what you can do. But you can never be free. "What's next" will be always running in your mind.
What has been your favorite moment of your Rice MBA experience so far?
My most favorite moment of Rice MBA experience is visiting offices of eBay, Linkedin, Amazon, Dell and other big tech firms to feel the open culture of these firms, the culture I only read in magazines. Coming from a traditional utility industry, there was no free food or couches in my office. So, when I first saw and realized that I can be part of this culture, I knew I took the right decision to come for my MBA at the right place.
What is your favorite thing about and/or favorite spot in Houston?
My favorite place in Houston is Rice Village. Be for a coffee chat with Alum, a birthday party, a brunch with teammates, celebration post exams or a date, there is a perfect place in Rice Village for everything. One can never be out of places in Rice Village.
In a sentence, what is the one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Be ready for surprises and don't be intimated by people around you. The major learning in MBA happens through interactions. You will meet folks who have already achieved what you want to achieve and have done things you never thought off. Be open to listen to their stories and inculcate them in your journey.
