What about the Rice MBA program has surprised you the most?
The collaborative feel of the program. We study together, learn from one another (piece of advice: become friends with someone with a background in accounting), and most of the assignments are tackled in groups of three to five.
What has been your favorite moment of your Rice MBA experience so far?
Participating in the Diversity Panel last October. I had experienced it as a prospective student the year before, so being able to pay it forward and share my experiences with the next generation of MBAs was a fulfilling experience.
What is your favorite thing about and/or favorite spot in Houston?
It is very easy to live in Houston. You don’t need a winter coat, rent is quite inexpensive compared to cities the same size, and there is easy-to-find parking everywhere!
If you need a minute to clear your mind and relax, check out the Rothko Chapel, 10-minute drive from McNair Hall.
In a sentence, what is the one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Get comfortable with picking between options.
