Veterans Business Battle

Join the largest veteran-focused business plan competition in the country.
The 10th Annual Veterans Business Battle took place on April 18-20, 2024

Check back soon for information about next year's competition.

The Veterans Business Battle began in 2015 with a goal of inspiring and encouraging our nation’s military heroes to become successful entrepreneurs. Each year, the two-day event gives military veterans an opportunity to pitch business ideas for a chance to raise capital from investors and lenders. During the competition, finalists pitch investors, receive feedback from industry professionals, network with potential investors, and learn from other entrepreneurial success stories. With more than $5 million of investments, it’s the largest veteran business competition in the country.

Congratulations to the 2024 Winners

1st Place: Mesa Quantum

Mesa Quantum is developing next-generation chip-scale quantum sensors for advanced position, navigation and timing applications. Our initial focus is the development of chip-scale atomic clocks that serve as an alternative source of timing to GPS when GPS signals are unavailable, unreliable or insufficient for the application. Co-Founder Wale Lawal is an Air Force Veteran.

2nd Place: Ascender Systems

Disaster response and humanitarian assistance relief missions are often delayed due to an inability to deploy communications networks, provide remote security monitoring, and establish supplemental lighting into hard-hit regions, worldwide. To address this problem, Ascender Systems designed a fully-functional robotic climber, capable of rapid deployment up vertical pipes, poles and columns in support of emergency services. Our two-part Ascender System will climb and “leave behind” the payload while the “climber” can be returned to the ground so that it can be reused. CEO Jorge Muniz is a Navy Veteran.

3rd Place: RxPharmacist

Pharmacists must pass their licensure exams upon graduation; otherwise, they can’t get a job and start paying off up to $200,000 of student debt. The stakes are very high for failing: they can’t gain employment until they pass, losing up to six months of potential earnings. RxPharmacist is on a mission to be a one-stop-shop for pharmacists as they transition from student to pharmacist — from their licensure exams and certifications, to maintaining their licensing and gaining full-time employment. Founder Maryam Khazraee is a Navy Veteran.
