What about the Rice MBA program has surprised you the most?
It has been really easy to find peers who are not just accomplished individuals, but also extremely humble, approachable and supportive. In today’s fast-paced environments, it is often hard to find individuals with this unique set of qualities.
What has been your favorite moment of your Rice MBA experience so far?
I have really enjoyed taking entrepreneurship-oriented courses at Rice. It has not just helped us learn from experienced faculty and entrepreneurs in the form of guest lectures or panels, but has also provided us the opportunity to think of a business idea and work on it from scratch. This has helped me understand and appreciate the kind of hurdles that one typically faces in launching and running new businesses.
What is your favorite thing about and/or favorite spot in Houston?
Rice Village. It has lot of places to hangout for dinner, coffee, etc. and meet friends.
In a sentence, what is the one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Please use all resources available (online/ offline) and research as much as you can about the school. The students and alumni are more than willing to share their experiences with you and help you out. It is important to have some clarity about what you really want to achieve from the MBA experience and a little bit of self-reflection combined with research should help you prepare well for questions that admission teams could ask.
