2016-2017 Events

February 28, 2017: Roundtable Series
Topic: Holding Out for a Hero
Duane Windsor will discuss research he has published concerning moral exemplars in business ‚Äď citing specific instances of different types of exemplars. Moral saints are seldom financially good for business. Moral heroes are rarely called for. It is moral champions that companies need the most. These champions can be positive and powerful exemplars. Companies need to cultivate these moral champions: employees who defend key values within the organization. Companies equally need to weed out moral sinners and neutrals: employees who know right from wrong but do not act on the organization‚Äôs values. Companies should recruit employees who demonstrate company values and model these values for other employees.
