The health care industry is an important part of the economic and business landscape in any country. Professionals and organizations in this industry, which come from sectors such as health care delivery, pharmaceuticals, insurance, medical devices and information technology, strive to provide better access to high quality care at competitive costs.

The focus of this one-day symposium is to bring together scholars from management areas such as business economics, finance, accounting, marketing, organization behavior, strategy and operations, to examine the opportunities and challenges organizations face and to provide some research-based insights to potentially address them.

This first symposium on ‘Management Research in Health Care’ organized by the Health Care Initiative at the business school at Rice University will showcase research of scholars from some of the top U.S. business schools from Harvard, Penn, Rice, Vanderbilt and UNC.
