What is a concentration or specialization?
They are options for full-time and professional MBAs to demonstrate specialized knowledge of a particular business function or industry based on career direction. The Health Care concentration consists of 12 credits hours of coursework and is reflected on the MBA transcript.
Can I take health care classes without getting a concentration?
Yes, all health care classes are open to all Jones School MBA students.
Will a concentration or specialization extend the length of the MBA program?
No, the program length will remain the same at 22 months.
Do you need health care experience prior to school to participate in the health care program?
No, returning to school for an MBA is often an opportunity for a person to move into a new industry.
Do I still need to take the GMAT for the Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management?
No, the GMAT is not required for this Executive Education program.

No, but you must be registered as a Rice graduate student to take the classes. Rice also offers executive education for people interested in taking classes without obtaining a degree.

Classes take place throughout the day ranging from weekday mornings and evenings to weekends. Students from all MBA programs have the opportunity to take all of the classes as his/her schedule permits.
