Fulbright/JGSB Energy Industry Directors Conference 
The Jones Graduate School of Business and Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. held the 3rd Annual Energy Industry Directors Conference in March 2010, a director education program designed for board members of energy and chemical companies. The conference featured industry leaders and corporate governance experts who focused on the issues facing board members across all segments of the energy industry, including:

  • The Critical Relationship Between the Board and Management

  • The Lehman’s Saga: What Boards Can Learn from Its Unplanned Demise

Capstone Course
The Capstone Course brings together teams of MBA students and professors to solve critical business issues of community organizations, from high-level strategic growth plans, to targeted plans for single service lines or divisions.

Shell Center for Sustainability
Rice University and Shell Oil launched the Shell Center for Sustainability in 2003, as an interdisciplinary program of research, education and outreach, to develop sustainable standards of living.

Professional Science Master’s Program
The Professional Science Master’s Program at Wiess School of Natural Sciences offers three degrees in energy functions that combine an interdisciplinary curriculum with business training and hands-on experience for success in a business environment.

Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship
Rice Alliance supports entrepreneurs and technology ventures in Houston and Texas through education, collaboration, and research. Since inception in 1999, the Rice Alliance has assisted in the launch of over 225 technology companies that have raised more than $500 million in funding. The Rice Alliance Technology Venture Forums are some of the largest in North America. Representatives from emerging technology companies showcase their new ventures in front of investors, industry leaders, advisors, service providers, and entrepreneurs. The Rice Alliance holds four Technology Venture Forums a year – one each in energy/clean tech, information technology/Web 2.0, nanotechnology, and life science.

Baker Institute for Public Policy
Since its inception in 1993, the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy has established itself as one of the leading nonpartisan public policy think tanks in the country.

Jones Graduate School of Business Career Conference: The 2010 Jones School Career Conference hosted alumni panel discussions on the state of various industries, including energy.
