Anup Sharma was named Global CIO for GEâ€™s Oil & Gas division in February 2011. He is responsible for leading the global information technology team and driving simplification, acquisition integration and innovative solutions for business growth. He is enabling zero planned downtime for our global customers with technology solutions powered by GEâ€™s industrial internet (big data analytics, smart machines & world class technical talent). Â
He is a 20-year GE veteran having held executive CIO positions at GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy and GE Energy Services and is a certified Quality Master Black-belt (MBB). In addition, he served in a series of leadership roles at GE Power Systems, GE Capital and the GE Corporate Initiatives Group.Â
Anup received his Bachelors of Science degree in Management Information Systems and Business Management from Huntington University in Indiana and is a graduate of GEâ€™s Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP).Â
He is a member of GEâ€™s global diversity council and is a director on the Petroleum Industry Data Exchange (PIDX) board. He also serves on the Council of Overseers at Rice Universityâ€™s Jones graduate school and on the Health Care Policy advisory committee at the Greater Houston Partnership. Anup and his family reside in Houston, Texas.
