Yolander Albert
Yolander Albert will be assuming the role of Interim Director of the Career Management Center while an international search is being conducted. She is a graduate of Southern University and Georgia State University. Her professional background spans from computer science to human resources to career counseling. She began her career at Procter and Gamble where she was a Systems Analyst. Following this assignment she became a career counselor for INROADS, Inc. where she spent 7 years and was Operations Manager for the Atlanta office before pursuing an HR career at Wachovia Bank. There she worked full-time and completed a Masters in Human Resource Development from Georgia State. Upon completion of her degree, she joined Duke University as the Associate Director for Employer Relations, responsible for all campus recruiting and corporate sponsorship activity for the undergraduate career center. She is presently the Associate Director of Employer Relations at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, coordinating all recruiting and corporate relationships for the Career Management Center, and is a graduate of Leadership Houston.

Caitlin Crotty
Caitlin Crotty is an Assistant Director in the Career Management Center. Prior to joining the Jones School in 2012 she worked in Career Services for the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Her experience includes coaching graduate and undergraduate students, developing career materials and workshops, and promoting employer relations. At the Jones School she serves current students and alumni. Caitlin received a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Higher Education Administration & Policy from Northwestern University.

Shannon Franklin-Hightower
Shannon Franklin-Hightower is an Assistant Director in the Career Management Center in the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. She has been with the Jones School since 2006 previously working as a recruiting coordinator. Her current role as Assistant Director includes coaching students and alumni with their career development as well as managing alumni career resources and job opportunities. Prior to joining the CMC Shannon had a career in healthcare administration. She holds a BS in Communication Sciences from Texas Woman’s University and is a member the NBMBAA Houston Chapter.

Elisa Gavia
Elisa Gavia is a Recruiting Coordinator at the Jones Graduate School of Business where she partners with Jones School students and recruiters in the employment process. Elisa is responsible for scheduling and managing information sessions, interviews, and networking events. Elisa was born in Milwaukee but raised in Houston from the age of three. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma and came back to Houston as soon as she could to be close to family again. Elisa has been a part of the Jones School family since December 2008. She is dedicated to the success of the Jones School and looking forward to making a positive impact on students and the surrounding community. Elisa is a committee member for the Houston Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.

Sue Hochman
Sue Hochman is a Career Coordinator in Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business Career Management Center. Sue is the instructor for the online career services course, The Introduction to Career Management, designed for Professional MBA students. In that role, she works with students on career assessment, resume and cover letter development, and research and networking skills. Additionally, Sue works with the marketing department to develop collateral materials for the CMC. Prior to joining the Jones School team, Sue was an active community volunteer, and worked in marketing and advertising for Bozell & Jacobs Ad Agency, Seven-Up Bottling Company of Houston, and KKBQ radio. Sue has a BS in Advertising from the University of Texas in Austin, and a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University.

Janell Reniers
Janell Reniers is an Associate Director of Career Management in the Jones School. Prior to joining Rice, Janell worked as a management consultant at Katzenbach Partners, LLC (now Booz & Company), focusing on corporate strategy, marketing, and human capital issues. She also served as Katzenbach’s Director of Professional Services for a number of years. Janell received her MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and her BS in Business Administration from North Dakota State University. She lives in Houston with her husband and son, and serves on a number of NFP’s, including the board of the Zoo Guild of Houston.

Stephanie Smith
Stephanie Smith is a Recruiting Coordinator at the Jones Graduate School of Business where she serves as a resource for Jones School students and recruiters in the employment process. Stephanie is responsible for scheduling and managing information sessions, interviews, and networking events. She is passionate about assisting students with career services and helps our employers build strong relationships with Jones School students. Stephanie also maintains the bi-monthly student newsletter and monthly corporate newsletter. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communication from the University of Texas at Austin and previously worked for the Masters in Accounting Program at the Red McCombs School of Business. She is a member of Young Professionals in Finance and the National Association of Women MBAs.

Jennifer Thomas
Jennifer Thomas is the Associate Director in the Career Management Center in the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Previously, she served as a Career Advisor at The University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. She possesses 9 years experience in higher education, including coaching students, teaching communication and career strategy courses, as well as creating professional development curriculum. She also worked in industry for 8 years, with companies such as Pier 1 and HBO. She holds a BA in Communication Studies from UT Austin; Masters in Communication & Rhetoric from Texas Tech and serves on the MBAWI Board for the Houston Chapter.
