We offer an evening or weekend option to meet the demands of today's career accelerators, as well as an extended format to allow those who want the option of completing the program in three years (or up to five ) instead of the traditional two years.

  • 22-month program with evening or weekend classes.
  • Your first year builds a solid foundation of fundamental business principles in small approachable classes.
  • Electives in your second-year allow customization.
  • The Capstone Course lets you put your education to work at the end of your second year.

Engaging Faculty

All Rice MBA courses are taught by a dedicated, nationally-recognized team of professors who create an engaging, challenging learning environment. These faculty members maintain an important balance between teaching and research, integrating insights from their own rigorous, peer-reviewed research and helping students understand these topics in the context of today’s ever-changing business landscape. Members of our faculty implicitly nurture skills and traits that are critical to success for tomorrow’s leaders. In every course, students have an opportunity to work one-on-one with an accessible, involved and energetic member of the faculty, who believes that academic research and current industry knowledge are as critical as textbooks to a student’s education.

Electives

In the second year of the program, you have the opportunity to tailor the curriculum to your professional needs by enrolling in electives, depending on the flexibility of your schedule. In addition to elective course work, you will have Intensive Learning Experience course work as well as a few additional required courses (see curriculum).

Career Management

The business school’s Career Management Center (CMC) partners with students and alumni to meet their professional development goals. Most professionals change their industry and function numerous times throughout their careers. Imparting the skills required to manage a career successfully throughout these transitions is the CMC’s goal.

An assigned career advisor will work with you for the duration of the program to help with resume writing, mock interviews, career strategies and other needs you identify.

Introduction to MBAP Career Management is an online course offered during second semester of the first year. The CMC’s courses and programs have enabled countless professional students to discover their core interests and abilities, build long-term plans for professional development, and learn what it takes to manage a career over the span of a lifetime.
