Robert Mardock ʼ07
Robert has worked in various functions within Starbucks Coffee Company. Most recently he is a senior financial analyst on Starbucks’ Corporate FP&A team where he manages the company-wide capital approval and consolidation process, as well as other company-wide forecast processes including stock based compensation expense, outstanding shares, and net interest and other income. Prior to Starbucks, Robert was a summer intern at Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon. His Rice Action Learning Project was with Waste Management.
“I have no doubt that without my full-time MBA degree from Rice specifically — with its academic rigor and focus on hands-on experiential learning — I would not have successfully pivoted my career from non-profit / international relief and development to corporate finance.”
Robert’s self-described “non-traditional” background prior to Rice includes being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania and a program director for an international adoption agency. He currently lives in rainy Tacoma, Washington with his wife Rachel — an accounting manager at Russell Investments — and his two boys Jude who is four and Greyson who is two. When not working, Robert can be found with his boys at the park, the zoo, or the children’s museum.
