Over the past 30 years, Rich has emerged as a global thought leader on digital business leadership. He is defined by an inspirational mix of business insight, technical proficiency and people-savvy. For the past decade Rich has followed his intense passion for developing digital business leaders and creatively leveraging IT to achieve business objectives. Rich is the Founder and CEO of the Institute for Digital Business Leadership, an IT Executive at Marathon Oil, an Adjunct Professor at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, and an engaging Speaker.
Earlier in his career, Rich has held executive positions at numerous global leaders (Exxon-Mobil, Reliant Energy, and CenterPoint Energy). In addition, he was an international entrepreneur and a practice-leading strategy consultant at Accenture.
Rich remains an active life-long learner. He holds an engineering degree with honors from the Sibley School of Engineering at Cornell University, an MBA with honors from the Booth School at University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from Capella University. In addition to his work at Rice, he has taught management courses for the Oxford College of Petroleum Studies. He lives in Hilshire Village (Houston) with his wife of 25 years and their three children. Outside interests include golf, theater, ministry and exploring everything new.
