Troy Matherne

Troy Matherne is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Geokinetics, Inc., one of the largest independent international land and shallow water geophysical service companies offering a broad range of specialized geophysical solutions to the petroleum and mining industries, worldwide. He is also a principal at CXO Advise.

Previously, Mr. Matherne was vice president and chief information officer at Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. He joined Helix from Dresser, Inc. where he was most recently vice president and chief information officer. Prior to that, Mr. Matherne led the strategic marketing function for Baroid, a business unit of Halliburton. His background also includes serving as controller for Auchan, USA, running division operations and leading a procurement organization. In addition to leading IT organizations, Troy has headed up finance, marketing, procurement and division operations during his career. He has a record of leading business transformations in large complex global organizations.

Mr. Matherne is involved in many professional organizations, including CIO Executive Summit, Society for Information Management, Houston IT Symposium, and Houston CIO Executive Leadership Summit. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Houston and received an MBA degree from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
