Rice MBA Venture Team Makes Top Nine, Travels to Santa Barbara for SEED Competition
HOUSTON, March 27, 2006—Rice’s Waste Wide Technologies, Inc. team was one of nine finalists to travel to Santa Barbara, CA to compete in the third annual Spirit of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) National Collegiate Venture Forum on March 3 and 4.
The team was MBA Class of 2006 students Henry Bragg, Andrew Corbin, George Light, Robert Nelson, and David Miller Crosswell.
Rice’s Venture team competed against students from Duke University, Washington State University, Syracuse University, University of Georgia, University of Houston, Westmont College, University of Arizona, and University of Florida.
The winner of the SEED competition was Allied Polymer from Duke University.
The event was presented by TechKnowledge Point, and included presentations from Ron Meritt, President of Meritt International, Dr. Doug Katsev, one of the nation’s premier laser surgeons, and business anchor and correspondent, Ali Velshi.
The annual SEED competition was launched Fall 2003 by David Newton, founder and president of TechKnowledge Point.
