John Cote is Senior Vice President, International Portfolio, at GE Energy Financial Services, where he manages all aspects of a $400 million portfolio of equity energy investments in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to this role, John served on the Enterprise Risk Management team as Policy Leader & Vice President, Operational Risk, and on the Venture Capital team as Vice President, where he focused on portfolio management. Before joining GE in 2007, John served as Director of Business Management with NextEra Energy, as Director in the Office of the CFO at Duke Energy, and as Commercial Manager with Enron’s weather risk management group for Europe. Outside the energy industry, John worked at Parvus International, where he managed global competitive intelligence projects and negotiation strategy. He also taught at schools in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Warsaw, Poland.
John holds an MBA from Rice University, and a BA in Russian and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire.
