Students receive nuts-and-bolts assistance on planning for college and careers.

Hands-on Learning
Students dive into the curriculum with hands-on exercises focusing on tools, business communications, and real-world cases.

• Team-building exercises including a fun competition to drop an egg from the second story of McNair Hall
• Calculator exercises on the time value of money and compound interest rates
• Stock market trading simulation in the Jones School’s El Paso Corporation Finance Center - Nolan Waugh (Finance Center Associate Director, Rice ’04)
• Business Negotiation - "The Apprentice" - Mark Cory (RSBI Instructor '05, '06) - Protiviti
• Communications exercises – PowerPoint, making presentations, professional communications, resumes and cover letters, e-mailing

Team Business Analysis / End-of-Institute Awards Luncheon
During the final few days of the Institute, cross-school teams conduct an in-depth business analysis. The Institute culminates with team presentations on this analysis followed by the end-of-institute Awards Ceremony / Luncheon.
