Lynn Laverty Elsenhans
Ms. Lynn Laverty Elsenhans graduated from Rice University in Houston with a BA in Mathematical Science in 1978 and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1980 before joining Shell Oil Company. She had a number of assignments in Oil Products and Chemical Products during her 28 year career with Shell in the areas of manufacturing, marketing and planning, including overseas assignments in Singapore and London. Her assignment before joining Sunoco was Executive Vice President Global Manufacturing for Royal Dutch Shell. Ms. Elsenhans was named Chief Executive Officer and President Sunoco, Inc., August 8, 2008 and Chairman of the Sunoco board January, 2009.
Ms. Elsenhans serves Rice University as a member of the Board of Trustees, the Jones School Council of Overseers, the advisory board for the George R. Brown School of Engineering, and the advisory board for the Center for Career Development. She is on the board of directors of GlaxoSmithKline, Baker Hughes, and Flowserve. She serves the Houston community by being on the boards of the United Way of Greater Houston, the Texas Medical Center, and First Tee of Greater Houston. She is married to John Elsenhans and lives in Houston.
