Jones School first ever lead academic partner of NAWMBA
Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business is serving as the lead academic partner for the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) for the 2009-2010 academic year. As the lead academic partner, the Jones Graduate School of Business will co-host the organization’s largest event, the NAWMBA National Conference and Career Fair. This year’s conference will be held on Oct. 29-31, 2009 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California.
“We recognize that the Jones Graduate School of Business partnership is ground breaking for NAWMBA,” said Tonya Olpin ’08, executive director of NAWMBA. “The Jones Graduate School of Business, who currently hosts NAWMBA’s national headquarters, has always had a strong commitment to diversity and assisting organizations like us help promising business women lead with global thought and creative action.”
NAWMBA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering business women and propelling them into corporate leadership positions. The organization focuses on the development of early- to mid-career stage professionals through education, professional development, networking, and collaboration.
As part the partnership, Rice MBA students will have the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills by participating in the National Conference, webinars, and spring leadership retreat.
