Dustin Olson is an Asset Manager for the Houston Refining L.P., a subsidiary of LyondellBasell. He began his career with Lyondell-Citgo Refinery in 1999 as a chemical engineer. Dustin is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston. He earned his MBA from the Jones School in 2006. Dustin and his wife, Amanda, have two children.
From 1999 to 2004, Dustin served various manufacturing functions at the refinery that ranged from engineering, to operations and maintenance. In 2004, he transitioned into a corporate planning and economics role within Lyondell's US Olefins business, and in 2007, he moved to Europe to support their European Propylene Oxide planning and economics activities. From 2009 to 2011, Dustin managed the marketing efforts for the fuels business focusing on rack marketing, lubricants, and mid-long term strategy. Throughout his career, Dustin has supported multiple projects and operations in the U.S., Asia and Europe.
In addition to the Jones School Alumni Association Board, Dustin serves as board member on the Industrial Advisor Counsel at the University of Missouri-Rolla Department of Chemical Engineering.
