Jones School Community Gather for Annual Softball Tournament and Alumni Partio
The faculty, staff, students, family and friends of the Jones Graduate School of Management gathered on the campus for the end-of-year Annual Jones School Softball Tournament on Saturday, May 3rd. The day turned out to be beautiful and a sizable crowd came out to watch the tournament and enjoy good food and company.
Six student teams — first-and second-year teams from all three MBA programs — started off with a round-robin tournament. The first-place team, the Class of 2009 MBA students, advanced to the finals against the staff/faculty team. The last game resulted in a nail-biting showdown, in which the students claimed to have won by one.
Associate Professor of Finance Barbara Ostdiek served as the general manager while Assistant Professor of Management Brian Rountree acted as manager for the team. The fun-filled tournament, organized by the Jones Student Association, was followed by the Cinco de Mayo Alumni Partio.
Thanks to all that took part in this event and made it a great success!
