Melissa Blakeslee named Rice MBA Director of Admissions
HOUSTON, August 8, 2007--Melissa Blakeslee has returned to the Jones Graduate School of Management admissions office as director of admissions for the Full-time MBA and MBA for Professionals programs. Previously, she served in the office as an associate director of admissions from 2004 to 2006. In her new role, Blakeslee is responsible for recruiting and talent acquisition, developing and implementing initiatives to improve admission processes and procedures, and engaging in corporate admissions development activities that attract world class applicants and students to the Rice MBA programs.
"It is an exciting time to return to the admissions office at the Jones Graduate School," said Blakeslee. "The school is poised to make great strides, and I am looking forward to being part of the team that makes the goals of the Rice MBA a reality."
Blakeslee rejoins the admissions team after spending the past year working as the marketing director for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining the Jones Graduate School of Management, Blakeslee worked in brand management at Coca-Cola where she led the launch of a new line of fruit drinks. She also worked at Ford Motor Company, performing investment analysis as part of a product development team. While employed by Ernst & Young, she worked in assurance services and obtained her C.P.A. Blakeslee holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
