The Jones School is a recognized leader in entrepreneurship education and research. For the last four years, the Jones Graduate School of Business has been recognized in Entrepreneur Magazine and Princeton Review as being one of the top ten graduate programs in entrepreneurship in the United States. Students learn from professors, adjuncts and lecturers who possess the practical experience and academic knowledge that are essential for the success of any entrepreneurial endeavor.
Through courses, such as New Enterprise, Enterprise Exchange, Life Science Entrepreneurship, Real Estate, Creative Entrepreneurship, Business Plan Development, and Managing Growth, among others, MBA students with an Entrepreneurship concentration are provided the toolbox of skills necessary to successfully create, launch and build innovative new companies.
Within in the Jones School there are also several networks of support and organizations centered on the continuing growth of start-up enterprises. The Jones Graduate School Entrepreneurs Organization (JGSEO) is another group that assists students and alumni to reach their goals through advice, encouragement and networking support.
The school is home to the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Rice University's initiative devoted to the support of technology entrepreneurship and host to the Rice Business Plan Competition every year. This business plan competition is the largest and richest in the world, awarding over $1.5 million in prizes just last year. The Jones School is located in the epicenter of the fastest growing economic region of the United States where new businesses continue to thrive.
Entrepreneurship has been an important and consistent discipline at the Jones School since 1978 and the school continues to produce the next generation of innovative new business leaders year after year.
