Sean Ferguson Named Assistant Dean for Degree Programs
HOUSTON, April 23, 2007—Sean O. Ferguson, MBA ’01, has been named Assistant Dean for Degree Programs at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management effective July 1, 2007. In his new position, Ferguson will be responsible for overseeing the administrative activities of the School’s three MBA programs, the admissions office and the career management center. He will focus on three major areas: metrics based process improvement, promoting one culture across the MBA programs, and working with internal and external stakeholders to help grow and develop the Jones Graduate School of Management degree programs.
“Over the last ten years, the Jones School has made significant strides in becoming a world class business school,” said Ferguson. “I am excited to have an opportunity to be a part of the ascent of the Jones school. I don’t think there is a business school in the country with as much upside as our school.”
Before joining the Jones Graduate School of Management as MBA program director in 2005, Ferguson spent several years in management consulting and the software industry. Ferguson worked for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in its transformation consulting practice and then with PROS Revenue Management as the product manager for its analytics and execution software products. Before getting his Rice MBA, Ferguson worked as a business line manager for Procter & Gamble’s Bounty brand. He received his Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
