Do I need a degree?
There are no requirements or transcripts necessary to enroll in most Executive Education courses; however, an application is required for our management programs: Emerging Leaders and Accelerated Development. A bachelor’s degree is recommended for all programs.
When are your courses offered?
Most courses are offered in two major sessions a year, beginning in September and in mid January.
How do I register for a course(s)?
You can register online for open enrollment courses.
What happens after I register and/or enroll in a course(s)?
A Program Coordinator will contact you via email and/or phone 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course date with pre-reading materials and/or course logistics.
Where are the Executive Education classes held?
We are located in McNair Hall, Rice University campus, Entrance 20. We are at the 2nd stop sign; turn right, the first building on the left is McNair Hall. See the campus map.
Where do I park for my Executive Education course(s)?
You will receive important information about parking in your enrollment acknowledgement/ welcome letter package.
Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
You will receive an enrollment acknowledgment, via e-mail, within 1 business day.
Can I reserve a place in a class?
We do not accept course reservations. Only payment in advance assures you a place in class unless you are registering for our management programs in which an application is also required.
What is your cancellation policy?
If the registrant notifies Rice University Executive Education at least 10 business days before the start of the program, a 95% refund will be issued. If Executive Education does not receive notification within 10 business days, no refund will be issued. However, a substitute may attend that program in place of the registrant. If payment is made by purchase order, full payment is expected regardless of cancellations. No refunds will be given for individual courses.
Because of the intensive nature of the management programs, Emerging Leaders and Accelerated Development, participants are required to notify Executive Education in writing no less than three weeks prior to the beginning of the program to receive a 95% refund. Otherwise, no refund will be given; however, participants can apply the credit towards the next scheduled program. Please ensure that you will have availability for both weeks of the program since transfers will not be permitted.
What is the deadline for registration?
Full payment must be received at least 5 business days prior to the first day of the class, except for the management programs where payment is due upon acceptance into the program. Payment includes course materials, breakfast, lunch, snacks, refreshments, and parking.
Do you offer financial aid?
No financial aid or sponsorship assistance is offered at this time.
If I miss a course, can I register for it the next semester or choose an alternative course?
Yes. As long as space is available, you may choose to register for another course. Please submit a cancellation statement 10 business days prior to the course date, or three weeks for the management programs to eeregistrar@rice.edu.
Do you offer online courses?
No, not at this time.
Can I earn college credit for Executive Education courses?
No, these are non-credit courses. Executive Education does not confer college credit; however our courses and programs emphasize general management and industry specific subject matter and upon completion grant certificates for your career and educational enhancement. We do offer CPE, CME, and CLE credits for some programs.
The Certificate in Finance & Accounting has enabled me to better understand the underlying accounting, finance, and valuation issues to be considered when planning to grow our business segment and contribute to increased shareholder value. I am also much better prepared to have efficient and productive communication with the accounting and finance specialists in our company, and I believe this will increase my value as an employee.
