Mark D. Courtney

CourtneyMr. Courtney has over 20 years of experience in energy investment banking, pipelines, trading and risk management. He also brings years of experience as a successful independent consultant specializing in gas storage development and mergers and acquisitions in the midstream sector.

He served as Vice President of Commercial Operations for Falcon Gas Storage, Inc. – an independent storage development company – following an eight-year career at Enron Corporation, where he worked in a number of positions, including General Manager of the Western Region for Enron Energy Services and assignments in the industrial services, producer services, and compression services groups.

Courtney’s energy career began at Howard Weil Labouisse Friedrichs, where he worked as an equity analyst covering the oil service, upstream and midstream energy sectors. He received his BA in Economics and Management from Rice University in 1989 and his MBA in Finance from the Jones Graduate School of Business in 1994. He is currently serving on the Alumni Board of Directors for the JGSB.
