Center on the Management of Information Technology

The Center on the Management of Information Technology (COMIT) is a component of the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.  The school offers the Master degree in Business Administration (MBA).  Students in the MBA program may concentrate in information technology.

The Center on the Management of Information Technology, which was established in 1983, began its first program activities in 1984.  The center is sponsored by business and government organizations and has the following objectives:

  1. to provide training, development, and continuing education for information technology professionals;
     
  2. to provide research opportunities for faculty and students in the area of information technology;
     
  3. to promote interaction between information technology professionals and representatives of the academic community.

The Director of COMIT is Dr. H. Albert Napier.
