Alan Crane is an assistant professor finance at Rice University. He joined the faculty in July 2010. Prior to that, he did his graduate studies at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on empirical corporate finance. He has examined issues related to capital structure and investment decisions.
He currently teaches the first year managerial economics course to the full time MBAs. He also teaches a second year finance elective which is taught across all programs.
Previously, Alan worked in consulting, specializing in real option valuation of energy assets and back office energy trading risk management.
