About the Rice Marketing Case Competition

For over three years, the Rice Marketing Case Competition has helped to bridge the gap between academia and the business world.  By giving students the opportunity to leverage their business skills towards solving real-world marketing problems, the competition serves as a way to foster innovative and actionable marketing strategies.

Because of the competition’s value to the learning and development of MBA students, schools across the nation have competed in the event.

MBA Programs that have competed in the past:

Pennsylvania State University

University of Texas-Dallas

Southern Methodist University

  Texas Christian University
  Texas Southern University
  University of Houston

Team Eligibility Requirements:

A team must consist of 4 or 5 students currently enrolled in an accredited MBA program in the United States.

The team members must be from the same MBA program.

Team members can be enrolled in either full-time, professional, or part-time MBA programs.

Teams can be made up of all first-year students, all second-year students, or a mix of first-year and second-year students.
Schools are initially limited to registering two teams from each MBA program because of capacity constraints.  Given unpredictable demand and capacity constraints, we will do our best to confirm your acceptance to the competition as soon as possible after your registration.  Registration will be approved on a first come, first serve basis.  If a school is interested in registering multiple teams, please contact Christian Hinkie (cmh9@rice.edu) for additional guidance.
